Meet Dr Alamin Kheir

Specialist care with a personal, Consultant-led approach

Dr Alamin Kheir is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and has worked at Consultant level since 2017.

He has extensive experience across community CAMHS, adolescent inpatient psychiatry and private practice, including clinical leadership, multidisciplinary care, supervision, and the assessment and treatment of a broad range of child and adolescent mental-health presentations.

ADHD Assessment & Treatment

A thorough assessment.
With ongoing treatment & follow-up.

Every ADHD assessment at Kheir Care is Consultant-led and includes a detailed face-to-face clinical assessment, supported by standardised Conners questionnaires and QbCheck objective assessment.

Questionnaires and objective testing provide valuable, structured information, but no single questionnaire or computer-based test can diagnose ADHD. Diagnosis is based on a comprehensive clinical assessment of the young person’s development, functioning and circumstances, together with information from relevant settings.

Where appropriate, Dr Kheir provides ongoing Consultant-led ADHD treatment tailored to the young person’s individual needs. This may include medication management and regular follow-up to review progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Why Kheir Care

Consultant-led. Face-to-face. Thorough.

Personally assessed by a consultant

Assessment and treatment are provided personally by Dr Kheir, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Face-to-face specialist assessment

Time is taken to understand the young person, their development, circumstances, difficulties and individual needs.

Clinical judgement supported by structured assessment

Where structured assessment tools are used, they support rather than replace detailed clinical assessment and Consultant clinical judgement.

Individualised care

Assessment findings are brought together into an individual clinical formulation, with recommendations and treatment tailored to the young person’s needs.

Referrals Pathway

A clear professional referral pathway.

Kheir Care accepts referrals from GPs and appropriately qualified medical professionals. Direct referrals from parents or young people are not accepted.

Professional
referral

A GP or appropriately qualified medical professional submits a referral.

Clinical
review

The referral is reviewed to determine whether Kheir Care is an appropriate service for the young person.

Specialist
consultation

Where a referral is accepted, appointment arrangements are provided and the young person is assessed face-to-face by Dr Kheir.

Assessment & treatment plan

A personalised clinical plan is developed according to the assessment findings and individual clinical needs.

Considering a specialist referral?
